Videoart Contaminations 3 – RO.MI & STUDIO.RA – Cinema Detour, Roma

Dopo le avanguardie storiche, le esperienze del secondo dopoguerra, con le neo-avanguardie, dopo happening, performance, installazioni, land art, body art, arte povera, le installazioni audio visive di Nam June Paik e Wolf Wostell esponenti del gruppo Fluxus, stiamo oggi vivendo in pieno una nuova, profonda metamorfosi nel campo delle arti in genere e dei nuovi media in particolare.

La classificazione in arte astratta o figurativa perde logicamente ogni significato e rimane una concezione obsoleta riferita al prodotto estetico. Le nuove tecnologie applicate all’espressione artistica hanno creato inedite sintesi espressive che vanno ben oltre vecchie ed inutili distinzioni. Siamo nel pieno sviluppo di un’arte multimediale dove la videoart sembra svolgere un ruolo di sintesi, collegandosi, facendo da collante e interagendo con i protagonisti delle più varie discipline.

Quando si parla di VIDEOART CONTAMINAZIONI si vuole evidenziare con chiarezza il rapporto con altre forme espressive dove spesso la dinamica di interscambio diventa inestricabile. Il video può inglobare, sintetizzandoli e trasformandoli in un unico dispositivo sonoro-visuale, i “vecchi” linguaggi della pittura e scultura, del teatro e della danza, di installazioni e performance ma anche nutrirsi di tutta l’esperienza del cinema e di un ibrido rapporto di interscambio con la tv e il suo schermo.
A loro volta ormai i vecchi e nuovi media espressivi usano le proiezioni video integrandole nella loro area specifica, prestandosi ad una contaminazione sempre più profonda.
L’installazione, il teatro, la danza, la musica, la poesia interagiscono sempre più con immagini video, si completano, traendone un notevole potenziamento.

Con la scienza il rapporto è duplice: da un lato la videoart è figlia della più sofisticata ricerca scientifica applicata ed infatti non si può non sottolineare che il suo sviluppo è strettamente legato alle ricerche scientifiche, soprattutto alla fisica quantistica, che consentono di elaborare tecnologie sempre più avanzate creando una pressoché illimitata possibilità di sperimentazione. Mentre dall’altro lato la videoart può elaborare immagini che, in parallelo con le scienze, investigano la possibilità di costruire nuove coraggiose realtà.

L’arte e la scienza sono sicuramente i campi nei quali l’intelletto può operare ai più alti livelli per giungere alla conoscenza e proprio per questo motivo l’interazione tra di essi dovrà essere la regola per il futuro.

La terza edizione di VIDEOART CONTAMINAZIONI, che continua a caratterizzarsi per la proposta di video dai contenuti e stili più disparati, come specchio della nostra complessa realtà contemporanea, verrà presentata dalle due Associazioni non profit di Roma

Following the avant-gards of the first part of the twentieth century, the experiences after the second world-war, with the new avant-gards following happenings, performances, installations, Land Art, Body Art, Arte Povera, audio-visual installations of Nam June Paik and Wolf Vostell both exponents of Fluxus group, nowadays we are living a new deep metamorphosis in the arts and in the new media specifically.

The division into abstract art and figurative art loses, obviously, every significance and remains an obsolet conception referred to the aesthetic product. New technologies applied to the artistic expression created new expressive sinthesys that go far beyond old and unuseful distinctions. We are caught in the very turmoil and full development of multi-medial art where video-art seems to have a sinthesis role, connecting and interacting with the main characters of the different media.

When we talk about of VIDEOART CONTAMINATIONS we want to underline thr relationship with other forms of expression where often the dynamic of interchange become inestricable.
Video can inglobe the “old” languages of painting and sculpture, theatre and dance, of installations and performance, syntetizing and transforming them into a single audio-visual device, but also feed itself of the whole experience of cinema and of an hybrid relationship with television and its screen.
At their turn, by now, old and new medias use video projections integrating in their specific area, presenting themselves at an ever deeper contamination.
Installation, theatre, dance, music, poetry interact more and more with video images, fulfilling themselves and receiving a greater powering.

The relationship with science is double: from one side videoart is generated by the hyper-sophisticated scientific applied research. As a matter of fact we have to underline that its development is strictly linked to scientific researches, mainly to the quantic physics, which permit to elaborate technologies more and more enhanced creating an almost unlimited possibility of experiments. From the other side video-art can elaborate images that, paralelling with science, investigate the possibility of building new brave chances.

Art and science are for sure the fields in which intellect can operate at higher levels to reach knowledge and just for this reason interaction between them should be the must for the future.

The third exibition of VIDEOART CONTAMINATIONS, following its habit of dealing with videos with different styles and contents as mirror to a complex contemporary scene, will be presented by two no profit Associations of Rome.
